Overall nice team. -Water Pulse Giving Bronzor only one weakness to Fire. Thunder Punch Lastly, I will follow up with the ability that I recommend and then finish up with the location that you can receive this Pokemon, and their evolution methods. >Shadow Ball can be found at Route 210 But, I would use Aerial Ace because you don't take recoil damage from attacking, yet again Brave Bird has twice as much base power. Location: Route 210, southern (not foggy) section. Trade with Electrizer to get Electivire. Fly Location:Valley Windworks >Flamethrower:STAB Move I personally like the first answer but Lucario is a pain. Most of the later puzzles in the game will involve boulder pushing, so you will definitely need to have a pokemon with Strength on your travel team. -Aura sphere Your other option can be Crunch if you don't want Rock Smash on it. Torterra is a hard-hitting, but slow Pokémon. Gastrodon @ Mystic Water (Note: Use it if you don't choose Torterra) -Flare Blitz -Magical Leaf/Giga Drain/Energy Ball Power Gem and Flash Cannon are both great STAB moves, Stealth Rock means this Pokémon is a great lead and can Stealth Rock actually helped out a lot and Thunder Wave made up for his bad speed and helped me catch Pokémon. Quiz! Gyarados. Rapidash and Houndoom are both better fire Pokemon. For the last slot, you can slap on Superpower to grant Scizor great coverage and the ability to hit Steel type Pokemon super-effectively. -Ice Beam/Ice Fang Moves: Earth Power, Aura Sphere, Dragon Claw and Phantom Force. Simply perfect with Sniper as ability. Lucario is a real powerhouse and can hit many Pokemon very hard with its combination of powerful attacking stats and a good movepool. Thus, HM moves can only be deleted by visiting a special character in game. You should have a Eeveelution, due to Strength, Torterra-Starter Surf We will add more members, and you can also decide to not give them HMs, such as Cut on Torterra or Waterfall on Empoleon and give some HM slaves these roles. Here is the teams, Torterra I highly recommend you choosing Empoleon. If you managed to get a Pelipper, it can replace Starly in your line up, since it can learn Fly, De Fog and Surf. Dig-Coverage -Surf(STAB, high power, a must have for ingame) Pokemon Platinum Version :: Changes from Diamond and Pearl, Pokemon Platinum Version :: Picking Your Starter Pokemon, Pokemon Platinum Version :: Pokemon Catching Guide, Pokemon Platinum Protip: FEAR Rattata :: Hints and Tips. Dragon Claw should be it's next move as it is a good STAB move with no downfall. Water Pulse, Toxicroak Dragon Claw can be accessed pretty early in the game and is strong move to use. Surf is here for a secondary Water move and to allow you to swim across water. Superpower/Swords Dance/Agility/Silver Wind/U-turn/Iron Head/Protect/Substitute/Roost. -Thunder Fang Barriers like boulders, trees, sleeping pokemon, and bodies of water help to guide your way, making sure that you don't move too quickly through the game and preventing you from missing important things like gym badges. You can continue to explore Iron Island, but to proceed with the game, head back to Canalave Gym. Fly is there just for convenience. For the ability, I would definitely recommend Technician, which makes a STAB Bullet Punch all the more deadly. Ice Beam I needed a Water-type for Surf and Waterfall. Surf: HM Ice Fang: Coverage @Amulet Coin/Nothing, Fly: STAB HM (2 turns) The HM for Fly will be to the right of the entrance. >Solar Beam can be found at Veilstone City. Rock Slide: Coverage. Another world has emerged in the Sinnoh region... ... a world unbound by space and time. Veilstone gym has also had an upgrade. U-Turn for Scouting, and is always helpful. Bug. X scissor for psychic and dark type Pokemon. Cut (HM): Eterna City, from Cynthia after defeating Gardenia. Strength is a strong Normal type move that can also be used outside of battle to push boulders. It does require a Dawn Stone to evolve into Gallade. -Shadow Claw. You can give it Giga Drain instead of Petal Dance because when Roserade is a Roselia, it learns Giga Drain by level up, but if you want Petal Dance, you have to evolve Roselia into Roserade at level 40. Night Slash is it's strongest STAB and takes care of any ghost or psychic types. or Crunch is for coverage against Ghost and Psychic types, and just for another move to use I guess. Rock Climb -TM 76 Stealth Rock, Oreburgh Gym Awesome pokemon. Psycho Cut, Close Combat, Night Slash, Leaf Blade Probopass may seem like an odd choice, but when making this team, I noticed Rock and Steel were both good types to have, so one thing led to another and Probopass was on my team, and Probopass was actually a really good Pokémon due his amazing defences. Flamethrower for steel type Pokemon. Upon entry into the Ruin Maniac Cave, you'll see the TM for Dig behind some small rocks. One of these Pokémon once used its immeasurable strength to lift a large ship that was in trouble. Roserade perfectly fits this category and sports secondary STAB Poison moves for additional coverage. -Brave Bird >Rock Slide can be found at Mt.Coronet, Reason to choose: >Flare Blitz:STAB Move Test Your Fortnite: The Zero Point K... Quiz! >Steel Wing:Rock and Ice Type coverage. Weavile. Empoleon - Water/Steel You can evolve Nosepass whenever, but I evolved him just before fighting Byron as it meant I could immediately teach it Flash Cannon. Earthquake is also STAB and a great move to have. I may have missed a few more heart scale moves, but atleast you can see some of them here. Petal Dance and Sludge Bomb are powerful and reliable STAB moves. Houndoom (Route 214) a pichu lv 100 L+R to activate. To get to the cave, go up the road that leads to Route 210 until you reach the north … I suppose if we didn't choose Torterra, then probably we need a grass or an electric type. D E F E N S E — If a Pokemon type is listed as Immune against, it will take no damage from attacks of that type. Close Combat is a very powerful STAB Fighting type move, but you can use Brick Break if you want, I would go with Close Combat though because it is VERY powerful. -Petal Dance Cut I chose Gallade like you said, Not necessarily, if you swap Empoleon for Vaporeon then you'll be fine, Infernape for Lucario, or Torterra for basically any good grass type. However, if you'd like you can get rid of a couple of offensive to achieve a more defensive set. You can also get the TM for Return at the Veilstone Game Corner for 8,000 coins. Mach Punch is priority STAB, Flare Blitz is also powerful STAB. You are about to leave a site operated by The Pokémon Company International, Inc. -Shadow Ball (TM found on Route 210) Move Locations: Garchomp @ Earth Plate Leafeon :-Grass Knot , Giga drain , Aerial ace , X scissor. The team members here were used for my run of Platinum. For Electivire, I choose to have Thunderbolt over ThunderPunch because I want to make use of it's good 95 base Sp. What is a good in-game team for Sword and Shield? -Avalanche Air slash stab because if you teach togekiss sky attack both flying moves will take two turns to attack. Garchomp is a beast. @Mystic Water/Splash Plate, Waterfall: STAB HM -Shadow Ball. Go up the cliff with Rock Climb, and the TM for Ice Beam will be at the opposite end of that area. Earthquake for Fire , Poison , Electric , Rock and Steel. Gastrodon has a very strong offensive movepool in this game. -Waterfall What Is Your Favorite School Subject? Cut is a weak move but is a filler move and is here so you can cut down trees to find many different items. >Shadow Ball/Thunder Fang:Ghost and Psychic Type coverage coverage and Water Type coverage. Knowledge! Hits hard, tanks well, and has a small but great movepool. Give it psycho cut and swords dance and you'll be unstoppable. I would go with Giga Drain since it heals your health but you can also use Grass Knot until you learn it. >Surf:STAB Move Do not post teams made by other people, such as Youtubers. Both Surf and Waterfall are STAB HM attacks needed for progression, Earthquake is a very powerful STAB move and Ice Beam covers her weakness to Grass. -U-turn (TM found in Canalave City or the Veilstone Game Corner). You can also catch a Bibarel in the Great Marsh if you don't want to waste experience points. Try to soft reset for a nature which boosts either attack stat or the speed stat at the cost of a defensive stat. Don't hesitate to give it Surf, you will be using it a lot, no matter the circumstances. Finally, Shadow Claw for a drop-in psychic type, and just in case measure against Lucian. @Black Sludge/Poison Barb, Petal Dance/Giga Drain: STAB other than that, good team and good moves. Strength may not be as god as full power return, but it is still pretty good for a stab hm I actually used this exact team but gardevoir instead of roserade and loved it. -TM 23 Iron Tail, Iron Island B2F. Strength. Rock-climb is an HM but it can also confuse the target. Stone Edge covers Garchomp's major Ice-type weakness and is the second check to Flying-types, as Weavile is the team's only way of dealing with them and might go down due to its frailty. Shadow Ball offers additional coverage, mainly for dealing with Psychic types. -Iron Tail (TM found on Iron Island). Stun Spore: Status Just a quick edit, here are all of the moves which cost a heart scale: Earthquake Defog Tangrowth is another odd choice, but looking at it, it's actually a pretty good Pokémon. Ice Beam-Coverage I tried not to use any moves over level 50 or any late game TMs unless if it was necessary. Leafeon :-Get a egg from the female eevee. in platinum, you get surf from cynthia's grandmother after defeating cyrus in celestic town. For the moves, Flamethrower and Dark Pulse are both a must, as they are powerful STAB attacks with no downsides and come off of Houndoom's wonderful base 110 Sp. Mud Bomb isn't too great, but it's the best Gastrodon can do until the post-game. Choose the one that best suits you. Few people realize just how good Bronzor is in Gen 4. 1 decade ago. Togekiss has 120 Sp Atk and 50 Atk, making it a Special Attacker. In battle, using De Fog will help you to hit evasive opponents, which is not that useful at all. Night Slash Move Locations: Strength inflicts damage and has no secondary effect. At the end of that path, you will find the TM for Shadow Ball; it requires Rock Smash. Close Combat is just awesome, I mean, it's a great mix of power, as well as a great STAB move. -Rock Smash. Pokemon Platinum Strength. Staraptor (Starly - Route 201) Moves: Flare Blitz, Bounce, Fire Blast and Sunny Day. And Aura sphere to cover rock weakness. If you're looking for the Generation VI Attackdex, Click here Waterfall-STAB Outrage/Earthquake/Flamethrower/Sandstorm Thunder Punch covers Water and Flying type weaknesses, and Earthquake is solid coverage. Gyarados subsitutue dragon dance is insane. Ability:Flame Body(if you can get it)/Flash Fire Byron's Gym in Canalave. -Mud Bomb (Level 11) -Return (TM found in Sandgem Town, Lost Tower, or Veilstone Game Corner) Incridible! The moves were tweaked a little, but I tried to provide a well-balanced team. Bibarel: You may be think i'm off my rocker for giving an actual moveset to this guy, but he has been blessed with an amazing ability, and dual typing with near perfect neutral stab coverage. Brian B. Lv 4. The TM is in a room on the second floor. Wood-hammer for STAB as you can not get Seed-bomb until after the E-4 (Note you need a heart scale to remember Wood-hammer). I still needed a Ground type, and the obvious choice was Garchomp, with its very good stats and an additional Dragon typing which provides it with more coverage. Vaporeon (Water Absorb) >Thunderbolt/Thunder:STAB Move -Stealth Rock. -TM 80 Rock Slide, Mt. @Expet Belt/Twisted Spoon, Psycho Cut: STAB Ice Punch can be used for that same purpose, plus it can hit Ground type Pokemon (which Lucario is weak to) for super-effective damage. Ice Beam-Coverage >Rock Slide, Location:Great Marsh(Tangela),lvl up with Ancient Power to evolve Lucario can be obtained from egg as Riolu from Riley, while Gallade requires Dawn Stone found near the Route adjacent to Pastoria City and a male Kirlia. In Platinum, players control either a male or female character and start with one of three Pokémon given to them from Professor Rowan. Charge Beam can also be used if you wish to buff it's Sp. But why not Buizel? I chose Close Combat over Mach Punch because 1 Infernape is already really fast, and Close Combat is just more reliable and you learn it upon evolution. Simple is best, and is assumed for the movesets. -Earthquake -Ice Beam -Sludge Bomb (TM found in Galactic Warehouse) -Shadow Ball. -Close Combat. Air Slash gains STAB and have 60% chance to flinch. Shadow Ball -Flamethrower Thunder Fang: Coverage Once Riolu hatches, level it up in the daytime with high happiness and it will evolve into Lucario. Luxray: Crunch, Thunder-fang/Thunderbolt, Iron-tail, Strength. Ability: Aftermath. I hope you liked it and it does well for you! -Flamethrower/Flare Blitz Roserade (Route 204) This way, the team can be used by anyone without too much difficulty. Head north and cross the bridge. Dark. -TM 36 Sludge Bomb, Galactic Veilstone Building B2F You'll need this later. >Steel Wing can be found at Route 209. If not your other 2 options are Giga Drain and Grass Knot. >Poison Jab:STAB Move Houndoom (Route 214) >Dig:Electric Type coverage. @Dragon Scale/Soft Sand, Dragon Claw: STAB Also, I used Weavile over it along with Gyarados. -TM 65 Shadow Claw, Hearthome Gym Outrage and Earthquake gains STAB. I think Steelix is very underrated. Not much is left to say about Roserade except that it's a great Pokemon! >Iron Tail:Rock Type coverage(because most Ground Types trainer I met has Rock Type as a secondary type), Location:Valley Windworks Close Combat is here because it is a very powerful coverage move and is easily learnt, because as soon as you get Staraptor it learns Close Combat. Fire Punch/Flamethrower/Psychic/Rock Slide/Signal Beam/Thunder/Thunder Wave. To get past these obstacles, more often than not, you will need a HM, or Hidden Machine, that will teach your pokemon a special move that can overcome the barrier. This Pokemon is fast and has a good Attack stat suitable for a hit and run battle style Outside of … The next move I would recommend is Thunder Fang, as Houndoom also has a solid base 90 Attack stat, and this move can come in handy more often than you would expect. Water/Ground is the answer. Earthquake, like Close Combat, is just an awesome move, especially with his STAB bonus from it, as well. The TM for Poison Jab is behind a tree in the rainy area; this requires Surf. Honestly, I don't feel the other starters are better than Torterra, beacuse 1. Coronet [middle] 2F Hope you like it: Empoleon (water and steel) or or Ice Punch Thank you for printing this page from www.SuperCheats.com. That's why we are also using Aerial Ace/Brave Bird, so we can use a flying move in battle without waiting 2 turns with a chance to miss. Roserade (grass and poison) Enjoy c: Infernape (Starter) NOTE: Make sure you have a Monferno before the 1st gym It is known that the Phantom type has small Pokémon, many of which have low HP and move. -Iron Tail Test Your knowledge of the Red Plane... Quiz! Crunch is a solid coverage move. If you don't want Thunderwave your other option I guess is Giga Impact. U-Turn can be very handy and can save Staraptor from fainting. Bibarel also has a niche in dealing with the rock gym for chimchar. -Psychic(coverage against Poison and Fighting) Thunder Punch is the superior option to Rock Slide as it covers more of Infernape's weaknesses (Water and Flying as opposed to just Flying). Ice Punch's your best Ice-STAB, Rock Smash and Strength are filler HMs. Remember to come back to check for more great content for Pokemon Platinum. Staraptor (Intimidate) It will be your surfer and a bit of a HM slave. The whole point of using a GOOD in-game team rather than 1-6 random Pokemon is to require less grinding. Brick Break can easily take out Byron, Candice and any other threats weak to brick break. Trust me on this, if my team consists of a lucario, mismagius, staraptor, roserade, infernape and weavile (some of which were based on this answer) what pokemon could i possibly switch out for a water type if i wanted one? Gallade (Route 208) I know TWO WATER MOVES but this is ingame and two HMs is more than worth it. Thunderbolt offers more power and is useful when facing Physically Defensive Pokémon. Gyarados is just an amazing Pokemon and it's stats back it up - it has amazing attack and bulk. (Note: If you actually are willing to take the time to breed him then Fire/Ice-fang are options). Fire Blast/Nasty Plot/Crunch/Sucker Punch/Taunt/Sludge Bomb/Hidden Power. Crasher Wake's Gym in Pastoria. What are non-legendary pokemon which can learn Cut, Strength, and Rock Smash? Cross Poison and Night Slash gains STAB and have high critical hit ratio. At level 25, it will evolve into Octillery. For grass STAB Giga Drain does decent damage and helps Roserade recover or if you want power, then use energy ball. Attack and have a psuedo BoltBeam combination. Just swap out rock smash for Superpower and BAM! While many people would have Staraptor as their Flyer, a lot of the other things Staraptor does, Infernape can also do, and Drifblim is also bulkier, has better coverage moves and has more advantages throughout the game due to her Ghost typing. Weavile seemed to be a perfect choice, seeing as it is fast enough to outspeed, even when low-leveled, and also compresses coverage thanks to its secondary Dark typing. If you want to know heart scale locations, just look them up on YouTube they are EVERYWHERE. Floatzel Location: Route 214, catch as a Houndour. Ability:Water Veil(if you can get it)/Swift Swim Steel Wing-Stab, Vaporeon Stone Edge is for Coverage and destroys its weaknesses like Ice, and it can land critical hits easier as well, just be careful of its accuracy though. Wake up slap to cover dark weakness because froslass is partly Ghost type too. This is the best fire-type that is obtained in-game, after Infernape. Waterfall: Physical hm stab Cross Poison, Night Slash, Rock Climb, Ice Fang Staraptor (Route 201) Close Combat offers excellent coverage of two out of three weaknesses, Rock and Ice. Protect or Substitute can be used for more scouting as well. Ability: Pressure Mixed Bibarel? Ability: Snow Cloak, -Ice Beam (TM found on Route 216, or from the Veilstone Game Corner) -Cut Ability: Natural Cure/Poison Point I recommend using Bubble/Bubble Beam until you get Surf, as they are pretty strong until the time. Iron Tail is just for coverage against Rock types, just be a little careful about it though, since it doesn't really have good accuracy. Dark Pulse is the same but is a Dark type move and can lower the target's special defence. EQ: Stab, sadly needs tm, though available at same time as gible iron island note that in platinum they moved some of the items tm/hm around as well as move/add pokemon. Weavile @ Icicle Plate ---> Life Orb -Close Combat Thunder Fang Just to say with Togekiss, Air Slash is much better than Fly. -Giga Drain/Energy Ball -Crunch -Water Stone (for Vaporeon, Route 213) A Hidden Machine helps the Pokemon to learn new moves. Wood Hammer is an amazingly strong STAB Grass attack, but it's downside for having it is recoil damage and it costs a heart scale to have Wood Hammer. Moveset: Closecombat Moveset: >Iron Tail can be found at Iron Island You can also get the TM for Thunderbolt at the Veilstone Game Corner for 10,000 coins. * The player can now challenge other trainers in certain Pokémon Centers. >Double Kick can be learned at lvl.29 Waterfall/Strength/Cut/Rock Smash You will be able to dominate people with this team. Moveset: Remember that players may be unable to access certain Pokemon, such as those restricted by trade evolutions. Include your recommended Pokemon in your answer, each with recommended moves for use throughout the playthrough. To teach Togekiss Aura sphere learn it from the move relearner. Roserade @ Miracle Seed Both abilities are good, but personally, I see Natural Cure as more beneficial. >Flare Blitz can be learned at lvl.56, until then use Flame Wheel. -Toxic/Synthesis. Gyarados (Route 204) (Old Rod - west of Jubilife City) Togekiss :- Flamethrower , Aura sphere , Fly , Air slash. -Mach Punch (Level 14) Sunny Day Ability:Overgrow I got damn lucky on this one,I was just passing in the grass and got a shiny Budew.Cut is HM.Magical Leaf/Giga Drain/Energy Ball all can be good and are STAB;Anyone of these moves will do.Sludge Bomb is STAB and Shadow Ball is coverage. Also, it's basically a HM slave with slightly better rights then all the others on this page. -Rock Climb. Staraptor (Route 201) HM02 is a unique HM, as you do not really need to have a pokemon with it on your team at all times since you decide when to use it (as opposed to the game map forcing you to use the other HM moves). >Waterfall can be found at Sunnyshore City. -Shadow Claw(coverage against Psychic and Ghost) My personal preference over Roserade but it's still a great Pokemon! Strength: Details: Level Up: TM: Egg Move: 5th Gen Dex: 3rd Gen Dex: This AttackDex is for Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver. this is a good team. Surf-STAB >Sunny Day:Power boost for Flare Blitz and no cooldown for Solar Beam. While Weavile has a few weaknesses (including a 4x weakness to Fighting), her great movepool and good stats means it can cover a lot of those weaknesses. Ability: Blaze The TM for Flamethrower is inside the Fuego Ironworks building and can be found right next to the boiler. >Sludge Wave can be found at Team Galactic HQ. -Earthquake Dark Pulse Physical: Staraptor is a powerhouse and has Fly to well, fly around the region. Fly, Aura Sphere, Air Slash, Thunder Wave I think having Roserade instead of Jolteon/Magnezone would be better since the grass typing gets used a bit more. Keep in mind that Riolu starts off at level 1 which may make it a pain to train up. Return does MASSIVE damage with max friendship/happiness, which is why we have the Soothe Bell to increase its friendship/happiness quicker. What is a good in-game team for Pokemon Colosseum? What is a good in-game team for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon? Fly is a good STAB move that gets you around quickly, Shadow Ball is another STAB move, Thunderbolt (while not covering any weaknesses) is a great move to have on Drifblim and Silver Wind covers her weakness to Dark. Ability: Intimidate. Strength Crunch is here because more coverage and well, we need more super-effective moves against Psychic and Ghost types. If you have been catching every pokemon you come across, you should have a Bidoof and a Starly somewhere. Floatzel is a very good Water type Pokémon for Sinnoh. So maybe swap that for Gallade. Ice Fang is for coverage against Grass types and you can also use it against Flying types too. You can find it in Team Galactic's Warehouse in Veilstone City. Staraptor is the best flyer for Sinnoh as it is extremely fast and hits very hard - it's intimidate ability is useful too. When it comes to their stats, Ghost-type has average stats. Gallade - Psychic/Fighting Infernape (Starter Pokemon) >Giga Drain(if the ability is Regenerator)/Sunny Day(if the ability is Chlorophyll) (Optional to not choose these if you have Infernape because both have very good coverage for any team) It is basically a special Grass type version of Outrage. Giratina has an insane HP and incredibly high stats. Gallade (Route 208) As such, an Icicle Plate can be used at first. Team Overview: Infernape, Staraptor, Weavile, Garchomp, Roserade, Gyarados. -Bounce RESISTANT TO. @Blaze, I don't think there are many good electric types, so I only add a grass-type, which is Torterra. Share your best in-game teams for Pokemon Platinum on this thread! >Thunderbolt can be found at Valley Windworks and Veilstone City. It can be found on most surf routes, but is fairly uncommon. >Crunch/Dark Pulse:STAB Move -Giga Drain(STAB, for healing in battle) Rock Smash: HM Strength This move also works well against Cynthia's Garchomp. Infernape was my starter of choice, not only because I liked its design but because its dual Fire/Fighting typing compresses a lot of coverage into one Pokemon. Thunder can be used for pure power, or Thunder Wave can be used instead for utility. i can't think of a good move to replace cut on roserade, so i'll think of one. Flamethrower -Ice Beam Fly is to help you travel around Sinnoh. Then as for status moves there are two main viable sets. For instance, HM05 Defog is a flying-type move that a player can only get by beating Gym Leader Fantina. Psychic: Stab, but psybeam is more than sufficient for the time being
